Until recently I was working in a part-time job that neither reflected the level or salary of the job I had before children. Like many others, I had chosen a job to fit in with family obligations. But when it came to part-time work, I was appalled at the lack of choice available. The kind of work I was qualified for simply wasn't available on a part-time basis. So, like a lot of people in my position, I ended up doing part-time work which was interesting but not well paid, and most certainly did nothing to get me back on the right career track.

However, with my children still so young, I really didn't want to go down the full-time route. Job sharing seemed the obvious solution, but finding a partner amongst my acquaintances (or even their acquaintances) proved impossible. I felt that I had to cast the net wider and that's when I hit upon the idea of jobsharepartners.com - a national register of anyone interested in job sharing, where partnerships could be made, ideas and information exchanged and, joy of joys!, interesting and fulfilling, but manageable, work be found.

So here it is! Still, at the time of writing, in its infancy and partly incomplete. The aim of this site is simply to help others help themselves.  So, please tell your friends about the site and spread the word, as the more people who register, the more successful the site will be in achieving this aim. Most importantly, don’t forget to register yourself. Even if you are the first in your area to do so, your details will then be seen by all newcomers. And you never know what could happen then…!
